Reviews for Polka Dot Poems

5 out of 5 stars

A beautiful book

“This is such a gorgeous book because it contains so much for children to get inspired and excited by.  As well as the 100 weird and wonderful nature poems, all written as haiku, there are really special illustrations on every page by exciting debut illustrator, Lucy Wynne.
Also included is a section at the back that gives information and facts about some of the weird and wonderful creatures celebrated by the poems in this book.
An all-round winner that will be treasured I’m sure by many.”

“Reading through Polka Dot Poems has me grinning from ear to ear.

Polka Dot Poems is exhilarating.  It arrives at a time when we’re rediscovering our connection to nature and each other.  It’s a reminder of what is out there, waiting, existing without us…..

There is such confidence in the devices employed within the haiku from alliteration to rhyme to lyricism…. The words seem to dance and play with us!

Then there are the illustrations which seem to glow with positivity and light!

There is such hope and fun and imagination.

 What a magnificent book.

It’s a title that merits a place about every teacher’s lanyard.  Just outstanding.”
